The joy of swimming
Vienna is rich in bodies of water - in summer, these are the perfect green alternative to open-air swimming pools or bathing boats. Let yourself drift and escape the hustle and bustle of the city - Vienna's natural swimming areas are surrounded by reeds and trees, are easily accessible by public transport and invite you to cool off and take a break. The Old Danube and the Danube Island are among the best-known natural swimming spots in Vienna.

Ball season
The Viennese ball season takes place during the carnival season from 11 November to Shrove Tuesday. To kick off the season on 11 November at 11:11 a.m., the Viennese dance schools dance a quadrille, a gallop and a Viennese waltz on the Graben in Vienna's city centre. The most famous balls include the Opera Ball, but also the Vienna Philharmonic Ball, the Sugar Bakers' Ball, the Viennese Business Ball and many more. The Rueff dance school is located in the historic city centre, just behind the town hall. It offers waltz lessons at fixed times almost every day, especially for visitors to Vienna.
